Maurice Berkower, CPA, MBA

CEO

Maurice Berkower has over 40 years of experience providing accounting, auditing, tax and consulting services. Maurice began his professional career with a New Jersey based regional mid-sized accounting firm and rose to partnership level, prior to the formation of Berkower LLC. His clients include onshore and offshore hedge, private equity and digital asset funds, investment advisors and broker-dealers in securities.

Maurice is the CEO of Berkower LLC, and Co-Founder and Director of Rankin Berkower (Cayman) Ltd. and leads those respective firms’ national and international alternative investments practice groups.

Maurice has an MBA in Taxation from Bernard Baruch College and a BS in Accounting from Brooklyn College, and is a Certified Public Accountant in the States of New York, Florida, and California and Washington, D.C. and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of CPAs, California Society of CPAs, and Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants.

Maurice serves on the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants Investment Companies, Investment Management, Private Equity, and Stock Brokerage Committees. Maurice also served in leadership capacities for various non-profit and charitable organizations, is a Board Member and Treasurer of the Florida Alternative Investment Association and Board Member of the Student Finance League Inc.

Maurice has contributed accounting and consulting articles to The CPA Journal and various community and local newspapers and presented various educational and informational seminars and programs to other accountants, bankers, attorneys, hedge fund managers and hedge fund industry professionals.

Pamela Radoszycki, CPA

Principal

Pamela Radoszycki, Principal, has expertise in a variety of industries, with emphasis in the financial services industry, including investment companies, offshore funds and securities broker-dealers, as well as cemetery, medical, legal profession and construction industries.

Pamela is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the States of New Jersey and New York.

Pamela is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants Stock Brokerage Committee and served as a Board member of the Children’s Museum of Staten Island. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Pamela holds a B.S. in Accounting from Brooklyn College of the City of New York.

Michael G. Mullen, CPA

Principal

Michael Mullen serves as lead partner for audit engagements of investment companies, limited partnerships, offshore funds, various other special purpose investment entities, and acts as lead partner or team member for audit, accounting, consulting and tax services provided by the Firm to various commercial enterprises.

Before joining Berkower in 2014, Mike was an audit partner at a mid-sized regional accounting firm accumulating more than 30 years of experience providing assurance services to domestic and international public companies, securities, broker-dealers and financial services industry clients. Mike is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the States of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He is a former representative for firm membership of AICPA, SECPS SEC Committee, member of both the New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants and he serves on the NYSSCPA’s Stock Brokerage Committee.

Mike graduated from Rutgers University in 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Ashok Goyal, CPA

Principal and Resident Manager

Ashok Goyal is a Principal and Resident Manager with Berkower LLC and is responsible for the Firm’s Cryptocurrency/ICO Alternative Investment Funds practice group. Ashok works closely with Fund managers in providing audit services to domestic and offshore master-feeder and stand alone funds. Ashok holds Certified Public Accountant Licenses in New York, New Jersey, and Colorado and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Ashok is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Ashok joined the Firm December 2005.

Eric Wolf, CPA

Principal

Eric Wolf has over 15 years of experience in auditing and accounting in various industries including investment companies, insurance, healthcare and not-for-profit industries. Eric’s experience includes hedge funds, commodity pools, fund of funds, master-feeder funds, private equity funds, voluntary health and welfare organizations, community health centers, religious organizations, foundations, and other nonprofit corporations.

Eric is properly licensed in the State of New York and is a member in good standing of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Eric received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Yeshiva University Sy Syms School of Business.

Eric joined the Firm December 2010.

Chuck Fong, CPA

Director - Broker-Dealer

Chuck Fong has over 25 years of experience providing accounting, auditing, and consulting services. Chuck began his professional career with a Big Four accounting firm and rose to Manager level and spent a decade with a national accounting firm serving their financial services clients.

Chuck is the Financial Services Director of Berkower LLC and co-leads the brokers and dealers practice group. His clients include onshore and offshore hedge and private equity funds, investment advisors and broker-dealers in securities.

Chuck has an MS in Taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a BS in Accounting from Rutgers University, and is a Certified Public Accountant in the States of New York and New Jersey and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Chuck is an adjunct professor at the Rutgers Business School in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Chuck has contributed accounting articles to The CPA Journal and presented various educational and informational seminars and programs to other accountants and brokers and dealers industry professionals.

Senior Audit Manager

Rachel Beil is a Senior Audit Manager with Berkower LLC and is responsible for managing some of the Firm’s Cryptocurrency and Investment Funds practice group. Rachel works closely with Fund managers in providing audit services to domestic and offshore master-feeder and stand alone funds.

Ciril Cohen, CPA

Tax Controversy Manager

Ciril Cohen is an accredited CPA in New York and New Jersey with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in business administration, forensic certification from New York University and management certification from American Management Association. Ciril is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and other state societies. Ciril has extensive experience working in government. That expertise directs her skills to handling all government interactions and tax controversy issues. Ciril provides technical tax guidance to the Firm’s clients and staff and is the leading expert on state and local tax issues.

Menachem Ovitsh

Tax Manager

Menachem Ovitsh is a Tax Manager at Berkower LLC and leads a team of senior staff accountants on a variety of client engagements. He is responsible for the Firm’s tax preparation practice, ranging from Financial Services, Corporations, Partnerships, and Individuals. Menachem received his Masters degree in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University and has been with the Firm since June 2014.

Kiana Wise

Marketing Director

Kiana Wise is the Director of Marketing with Berkower LLC, bringing with her over 15 years of marketing experience. She is responsible for the marketing, communication and business development efforts of the Firm. In addition to strategic business development, Kiana directs media relations, branding, website development and advertising. She manages and oversees events, sponsorships, charitable contributions, and more.
